RCB dealt major blow as top-order batsman ruled out of IPL season “Rajat Patidar“
In a major blow to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), top-order batsman Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of the entire Indian Premier League (IPL) season due to an Achilles heel injury. The announcement was made by the team on April 4, leaving RCB without a crucial player for the entire tournament.
Patidar’s absence is a significant setback for RCB, as he was expected to play a pivotal role in the team’s batting lineup. With his consistent performances in domestic cricket, he had earned a spot in the RCB squad for IPL 2023.
The 27-year-old right-handed batsman from Madhya Pradesh made his IPL debut in 2021 and played 14 matches, scoring 163 runs at an average of 18.11. He was retained by the franchise for IPL 2023 and was expected to play a crucial role for RCB in the middle order.
However, his injury means that RCB will have to look for alternatives to fill the void left by Patidar. The team will be hoping that the rest of the squad can step up and deliver in his absence.
