Shakib Al Hasan Pulls Out of IPL 2023 Due to International Commitments and Personal Reasons!
Kolkata Knight Riders, the IPL franchise, has been hit hard as their all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan withdrew from IPL 2023 due to international cricket commitments and personal reasons.
The news came to light on Sunday when Shakib informed his franchise team about his decision.
Bangladesh is scheduled to play a hectic period of matches, including a one-off Test match against Ireland, followed by a tour of the UK where they will play three ODIs against Ireland.
Shakib and Litton Das missed Knight Riders’ first match of the season against Punjab Kings due to their participation in a home T20I series against Ireland.
As of now, Litton remains a part of the Knight Riders squad, but it’s unclear if he’ll also opt out of the IPL.
Knight Riders had already been facing a tough time with their captain Shreyas Iyer ruled out due to a back injury.
Now, without Shakib, the team is left with only six overseas players in their squad, including Litton.
The team will need to find a replacement soon to maintain balance and improve their performance.
They will play their next match at home against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Kolkata, where they will look to bounce back from their previous defeat against Punjab Kings.
