Pakistan’s renowned umpire Aleem Dar has been nominated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the International Panel of Umpires for upcoming international matches, including the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The 54-year-old umpire will replace Ahsan Raza on the international panel who has been promoted to the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires.

Aleem Dar’s appointment on the International Panel of Umpires is a great recognition of his dedication to the sport, and it is a testament to his skills as a match official.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations, umpires on the international panel can only officiate in international matches, and they are nominated by the ICC Members.

Aleem Dar’s career as an umpire is nothing short of impressive.

He has officiated in a world record 439 international matches, which includes 145 Tests, 225 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 69 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

He has also been included in the elite panel of umpires in 2004 and has officiated in five ICC Men’s Cricket World Cups, seven ICC Men’s T20 World Cups, and five ICC Champions Trophy events, including the finals of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2007 and 2011.

The PCB’s decision to nominate Aleem Dar is highly appreciated as it will provide a great opportunity for him to showcase his umpiring skills in international matches.

Aleem Dar has been a crucial part of Pakistan’s cricket community, and his appointment on the International Panel of Umpires will also ensure that Pakistani umpires continue to play a significant role in international cricket.

Pakistan’s other three umpires on the international panel are Faisal Khan Afridi, Mohammad Asif Yaqoob, and Rashid Riaz Waqar.
